Study at FNSPE CTU in Prague
The faculty provides university education in the form of full-time structured study. The standard length of study is 3 years in the undergraduate program (ending with the title Bc.) and 2 years in the master’s study programme (ending with the title Ing.). The main forms of study are lectures, seminars, practical training and consultations. The study is ended with a state examination and defence of a bachelor’s or master’s thesis. The faculty also organises doctoral studies, lifelong learning of public citizens and professional education of scientific staff.
In all fields, in addition to teaching new knowledge, scientific-research activity is also developed. The professional work of students is closely connected with specific issues currently in practice (e.g., IBM, ČEZ, ČNB, IKEM, etc.) or from the scientific centres (CERN, JINR, ELI, ITER, etc.). Therefore, there is a close connection between scientific and pedagogical work; the direct involvement of students in solutions for research programmes and preparation for modern and collective forms of scientific work gives education its unique scope.
Students also have an opportunity to participate in international internships, exchange programmes, or long-term study in foreign countries with financial support from the Czech Technical University or other foundations.
